W201 Special and Limited editions
Few people know that the W201 chassis came in special and limited editions. Some where very limited like the Berlin 2000 edition produced in only 180 units, and others where simply special editions, like the Avantgarde models. Equal for all of them were high prices and special features.

All of them came in the last production years, and were most likely developed to satisfy the needs of those who wanted something fresh and that couldn't wait for the next model (C-class W202).

AVANTGARDE Available in: - 190E 1.8 rosso - 190E 2.3 azzurro (Picture) - 190D 2.5 verde Features: Special paintcolor and upholstery. Had a very high price. A total of 4600 units was produced in the years 1992 and 1993.

BERLIN 2000 Available in: - 190E 1.8 - 190E 2.3 - 190E 3.2 AMG Features: "Für Jäger und Sammler" - "For hunters and gatherers" Only 180 units were made in the occasion of the 1992 Summer Olympics. Had sport chassis and light alloy wheels.

PRIMAVERA Only available in Switzerland? First shown at the autoshow in Geneva in 1993. Features: This model has a special green metallic (Similar to vivianit) and eight-hole rims.

SPECIAL EDITION Available in: - 190E 2.3 in Brilliant Emerald with Cream leather. -190E 2.6 Sportline in Black with Black leather. Features: Available in USA spring 1993, both produced in approximately 700 units. Very much equipment, for instance Automatic climate control, eight-hole rims, wooden interior, electrical seats, etc. Prices start at 29.950 US$ and 34.900 US$.
